This is the BIG day that we are all waiting for, the “Alvin & Diane Nuptial: Journey of life and love to forever!”
It was a fine fine day, had a lot of worries to think from the flowers to the food down to the suits and dresses.
To continue the journey…
At 12:30 am, I am still awake but really sleepy still have to ask my friends a favor to print the program and the visitors list per table, Eyjey responded to me immediately and I emailed her the program and the list plus the forever chords and lyrics that I will be singing at the reception, I wanted to surprise my fiancé with that.
4:00 am I woke up and prepare again the things that the photographer will take photos, but at 6:00 am I took photos of the accessories to my wedding, I’ve got few shots then have to take shower. At around 9:30am Grace, Alvin and I had our breakfast. After the fast eating breakfast I had a really hectic time, I have to give the accessories to Gian while waiting to Tina for my make-up.
accessories
At around 10:45 am, Tina and Kathy arrived then they started my make-up and hair.
Bride's preparation
At round 11:00 am Alvin told me that he will go to Divisoria to Ka Ine’s shop since they don’t want to deliver the suits at the hotel because of the payment security. Alvin was so upset with Ka Ine so he can’t help it but to go there and talked to Ka Ine. When he was at the shop he saw another couple inquiring there then Alvin got his move he told to the couple “ikakasal din kayo? Naku, ako nadala dito mamayang alas tres na kasal ko wala pa yung mga damit na pinatahi ko. Kung ako sa inyo huwag na kayo dito”. The couple think twice with what he said, that is the truth.
At that time I was so worried, because it is almost 12:00 nn and Alvin was not yet back in the hotel. Then I asked my brothers Macky and Moren to accompany the photographers to Alvin’s suite. I also texted Jo-anne, Alvin’s niece to inform her that his Uncle went to Divisoria then Jo-Anne told me that his brother Lester will go there also to get the suits. Then Alvin got back to the hotel and I felt relieved. Lester also assisted this Uncle in his preparation.
Groom's Preparation
At around 2:00 pm my friends, Aileen, Francia, Racquel and Aubrey arrived to help me with the other preparations. They helped me with my gown and with my shoes. Also Grace gave them instructions on how it will be at the church and at the reception.
It’s 2:15 in the afternoon already and we are in a hurry to go to Mt. Carmel Shrine Parish for the Ceremony. I and the photographers are going to the Mezzanine floor of the hotel to take some photos of me at the stairs, but when we were inside the elevator my long veil got stocked outside the elevator, my mama told me to pull it, so I did. We then proceed to the photo shoot.
Photos at the Mezzanine
It is almost 3:30 in the afternoon and the ceremony is about to start, everybody is in a hurry. The Driver in the bridal car was too considerate and he makes it a point that I will be at the church at the time needed. I arrived exactly at 3:30 pm and a little while Alvin and the other members of my family arrived. Grace, Dinz, Ruth, Merva and Eyjey were so helpful to take care of the things needed in the ceremony. Thanks girls for helping and loving me so much.
I was so happy to see all my friends and relatives to gather in one important event of my life. I was too occupied with the things going into my head, how the ceremony will be etc. but in the end I told to my self to surrender and go to the flow, I know my wedding will be perfect!
too busy outside
While everybody outside are too busy preparing for the walk, when I was alone in the car the diver was giving some advice that I have to seas the day because it is my day, he told me that if you felt you are going to cry then do it, do every thing you want because it is your day. Then the song from the car’s radio had a beautiful song that touches my heart and it made me breakdown.
The Sponsors
A little while, I was instructed to go down to the bridal car after they closed the church doors, the staff at the church also instructed be to hold my bouquet with my two hands near my stomach. Then Ms. Vero told me “Ms. Diane, wag mo naman saksakin sarili mo ng bulaklak” we laugh together at that moment. I was so happy and excited that time, when the door opens I felt like a princess, everyone is looking at me and I felt they are so stunned with me. I looked each and everyone when I passed at the isle as I walked, here they go my parents are now walking with me at the other half of the isle, then I saw my groom crying and he cant’ help it. He blessed with my parents and I kissed ate Eva and hug Tatay for paying respect to them then my papa gave my hand to Alvin. While we were walking to the altar Alvin is still crying and I asked him why, he never said a word and I told him “nahawa ako sayo” I had a runny nose that time and I was teary eyed. I was so touched that my groom was crying seeing me walking down that long isle. I never expected him to cry that much.
everyone staring at me
The mass started, my friend Francia was the one who read the first reading from our misalette a Reading from the Book of Genesis (2, 18–24), while the second reading came from the letter to the Letter to the Colossians (3, 12-17) headed by my friend Racquel, I asked ate Sharon to read the Responsorial Psalm - Ps 103, 1:5 and the last reading was headed by my cousin Susie for the prayer of the faithful.
While we were in the Altar listening to the priest we are talking and giggling, I told him that “akala ko tatakbo ka, kagaya ni John Llyod sa may amnesia girl”, he then told me “oo gagawin ko nga dapat yun e”, then I told him “baka ma-amnesia din ako, apolo? Pol?” then we giggle. He said “Nanghihinayang ako sa gastos kaya di ako tumakbo”. Then we exchange vows and put the ring on each other’s right hand ring finger and had the other ceremony. I asked all the secondary sponsors and my maid of honor a tissue or hankie but only my brother Moren gave me hankie, and I thank Moren for that.
Ceremony
After the ceremony, Dinz was the one announcing the recessional thing to handle the pictorial. We had picture taking with the priest, sponsors, family, friends and relatives with the background songs from Carol accompanied by Ken Aoki and from the songs from the church choir. At that moment I felt like I was just dreaming because of the fast transition that was happened in an hour. I was overwhelmed with the people around supporting us.
At the Reception:
We had our Photo session before the party at the reception started. My make-up was also retouched by Tina and her friend. Then the plan of I and Ruth started to come true, all the grooms’ men, brides’ maids, secondary sponsors, best man and maid of honor are asked to dance to the tune of Bruno Mars’ song Just the way you are, anything goes with that song and everybody was cheering and felt very happy with that idea. After their remarkable entrance, I and my husband Alvin also dance to the tune of Forever by Chris Brown, at first Alvin was hesitant to do it and then I told him that we have to do this to avoid boredom to the guests at least they felt entertained with that crazy dancing idea. Every body loves it!
